In 2016, Merfat's family was forced to flee to Kadresh due to heavy shelling on their hometown. She was out of school for two years, but when she returned, she was determined to continue her education and pursue her dream. Merfat successfully graduated from middle and high school and enrolled in the faculty of Pharmacy at Aleppo Free University.
